An initial chiropractic consultation is split into 2 appointments. The first appointment is 45 mins long, during which we take a detailed case history about your presenting symptoms and ask questions about your general health. You will then receive a thorough examination, assessing your nerves, muscles and joints.
If your Chiropractor requires X-rays in order to help diagnose and treat your condition, they can arrange for these to be taken privately or via your GP.
The second part of the initial consultation lasts 30 minutes and is called a results session. This is where we will discuss our diagnosis with you, explain what was found on your examination, discuss the recommended treatment plan and how your condition can be helped. Once your condition has been explained thoroughly to you, and with your consent, treatment can begin. Treatment is included in the results session.
If Chiropractic care is not suitable for you, your chiropractor will refer you to your GP or another specialist.
